The Mollie Campbell-Smith Forum is a bi-annual community forum sponsored by RFT, in conjunction with the University of Tasmania.
The forum is named in honour of Mollie Campbell-Smith AM MBE, a former RFT Board member who sadly passed away in 2015 at the age of 98. Mollie was a fierce advocate of health and wellbeing particularly for the young, and she devoted her life to promoting health and wellbeing issues and causes. Mollie received many honours for her lifetime of outstanding community service, which included teaching science at Launceston’s Methodist Ladies College and various state schools, and volunteering in over 30 different organisations.
RFT was privileged to have Mollie as a Board Member for many years and will continue to run the bi-annual forums in Launceston in her honour.
Two forums have been held to date, the first in October 2013 focusing on the social and emotional wellbeing of school-aged children, and the second in October 2015, focusing on resilience.
Details of this year’s forum will be released later this year.
